Must Do: Body Brushing!

We all have our must do beauty musts. Maybe you cover your feet in rich moisturiser each night and put them in bed socks, maybe you do a face mask every other day, whatever it is we all have them and mine? Mine is body brushing!

Whatever yours may be, beauty must dos are an incredible thing to embrace – they have the ability to make us look and feel like goddesses. If this isn’t already one of yours, today I have a new one for you to incorporate into your daily routine: body brushing. The simple act of brushing your skin with a natural bristle body brush for just a few minutes per day has benefits that go way beyond the surface.

Dry body brushing is great for so many things! It unclogs the pores and ex-foliates the skin leaving it brighter and feeling smooth and soft. Other than this it also increases the blood circulation to the skin, which helps release toxins from within the body as well. It is also thought due to softening the fatty areas beneath the skin reduce the forming and appearance of cellulite. It also feels awesome, I find it incredibly relaxing and you really do feel so much better after doing it!

So, how’s it done? First, you need to get yourself a good body brush – go for one with natural bristles, rather than synthetic, as this kind will be much gentler on your skin. There are lots of body brushes on the market, but I think this is the best.

Before you have a bath or shower brush your entire body. The best way is starting with your feet and working upwards with long large stroking motions. Always brush your skin when the brush and your skin is dry, and work towards your heart as this encourages blood flow. One area not to brush is your face (you can get special brushes for your face) Use more pressure brushing on your feet, legs, arms and bottom and less pressure on the tummy. Your skin shouldn't look red or irritated after, slightly pink maybe so make sure it isn't too rough on you! Try to alwayss have a shower afterwards as it rids the surface of any toxins and dead cells have been released.

Do any of you guys have beauty must dos? or love body brushing?
